One of the most significant aspects of any piano is it’s tone. Tone is basically the type or quality of sound that an instrument makes. On one end of the spectrum is the classical tone, generally a full more mellow sound. The other end is the “bright” tone, often a bit louder and a bit more harsh or brassy sounding. Finer pianos today strive to have a balance of the two. Generally speaking American made pianos tend to have a more classical sound while Asian made pianos tend to be brighter. It’s all pretty much an individual taste.
